TX-RAMP was instituted by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) to establish a state-wide risk and authorization management program. This program takes a standardized approach toward security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring of cloud computing services that process state agency data. DIR has implemented a framework for information collecting from cloud security services. Then it assesses the responses within the compliance and required documentation and standards.
Texas state agencies that need to comply with these requirements – including public, private, and community colleges that implement cloud services, any state agencies that contract with cloud service providers, and those cloud providers that also need to demonstrate security criteria compliance -- can now use Fortra Vulnerability Management.
