Partnership Unites Leading Cloud Information Security Providers

By Fortra's Digital Defense

San Antonio, TX – September 13, 2011 – Digital Defense, Inc. (DDI), a leading provider of information security governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) solutions, and Veracode, Inc., provider of the world’s only independent cloud-based application risk management platform, today announced a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the partnership agreement, DDI will augment its current service portfolio to include Veracode’s cloud-based application security testing services. The alliance of the organizations will offer clients enhanced and comprehensive cloud-based security solutions.

“We have known the Veracode team for many years,” said Larry R. Hurtado, president and CEO of Digital Defense. “Until now, we have worked together on an informal basis. However, with the announcement of Veracode’s Global Partner Program, we now believe our clients can truly benefit from the Veracode offering due to our ability to provide them with valuable application code audits performed in a very efficient manner. We are also excited about the future potential of this relationship through greater levels of integration between our Frontline™ Solutions Platform (FSP), a cloud-based vulnerability management system, and Veracode’s cloud-based application testing platform.”

DDI utilizes its FSP to provide clients with enterprise-wide management and analytics of vulnerability scanning and penetration testing results. DDI delivers vulnerability scanning and penetration testing outputs to clients from a secure information management portal that is configured to best support the needs of each client. Scan and penetration test results reporting as well as workflow management of detected security vulnerabilities are available via the portal, including the business risk associated with each host, further optimizing the execution of risk mitigation plans.

“We’ve experienced tremendous success and momentum with our Global Partner Program, as the demand for application security solutions is increasing significantly,” said Pamela Cyr, senior vice president of business development and strategic alliances of Veracode. “The addition of Veracode’s services to DDI’s portfolio allows DDI to broaden the scope of the vulnerability information it offers customers by providing additional levels of analysis of the application layer, which is becoming the target of most new attacks. DDI understands the inherent value of providing security services in the cloud and we look forward to working together to offer a lower cost of entry for delivering sophisticated code review.”

DDI continually enhances Frontline, the Company’s unified security information management platform. In the most recent upgrade of Frontline, DDI enhanced the scanning capabilities of Frontline Vulnerability Manager with the addition of its next generation vulnerability scanning engine, Network Interrogator Reconnaissance Vehicle (NIRV). NIRV dramatically reduces the time required to scan global networks and increases scan accuracy improving the overall efficiency of client remediation programs.
