San Antonio, TX – August 3, 2009 – Digital Defense, Inc., a leading provider of information security assessment and security compliance solutions, today announced they have released a new module for their innovative Security Training, Education, and Awareness Module™ (TEAMTM) Learning Management System (LMS) for online patrons. The TEAM LMS enables client organizations to provide their customers with basic security education to avoid cyber-threats as a part of a comprehensive online security program. This latest update consists of a new module entitled “Old Computer Disposal”, which addresses not only an often-overlooked security concern, but an environmental issue as well.
“Employee and client security awareness and training are a core part of any comprehensive security program. The TEAM LMS helps our clients achieve their security and compliance objectives, and our extremely high client retention rate verifies that we are successful in that effort,” explained Larry R. Hurtado, president and CEO of Digital Defense. “We are especially proud of this particular module regarding the safe disposal of old computers. Disposal of these assets represents not only an information security challenge but also a potentially negative environmental impact as well. This module can help our clients continue to improve their processes in this area while minimizing the negative impact these assets can have on the environment when improperly disposed. Client employee and customer information security education is a core principal at Digital Defense and continues to be an area where we continuously look to enhance our offerings.”
TEAM consists of fifteen other courses, associated tests, and completion certificates such as Online Fraud, Passwords, Online Shopping, Viruses/Worms, Trojans & Spyware, Home Firewalls, Securing Home Computers, Secure Transactions Away from Home, Online Banking Myths, Child Safety Online, ATM & Debit Card Misuse, Wireless Security, Keylogging, Vishing, and Botnets, along with the new Old Computer Disposal course. It also contains a special section related to ID Theft topics. Digital Defense delivers the TEAM LMS in both English and Spanish via a toggling feature in order to benefit a greater number of their clients’ online patrons. As an added benefit, the Security TEAM LMS platform provides organizations with statistics on customer usage of the training. Digital Defense enhances the TEAM service with additional courses and/or functionality on a semi-annual basis.
